Ep 43 Mark Hohn

Former Origin Greats Queensland Season 2 Episode 17

Welcome to the FOGS Queenslander Podcast Episode 43!
Featuring FOG #77 Mark Hohn
Hosted by Mark Braybrook

In this episode, we’re joined by tough-as-nails front-rower Mark Hohn, a no-nonsense forward who carved out a gritty career through the '80s and '90s in both Australia and the UK.

Born in Pittsworth, Queensland, Hohn made his mark with the Brisbane Broncos, where he played over 100 games, including during the club’s early years of success. He also featured for Fortitude Valley, South Queensland Crushers, and England’s Hunslet, showing his trademark toughness at every level.

A proud Queenslander, Hohn wore the Maroons jersey nine times between 1993 and 1995, and capped off his representative career with a Test appearance for Australia in 1994.

In this episode, Mark reflects on:
• The raw, physical era of forward play during his time
• His years with the Broncos during their foundation and rise
• Representing Queensland and Australia in the mid-90s
• The passion, pride, and pain of Origin football
• His thoughts on the evolution of the modern game

A genuine enforcer with a deep respect for the jersey, Hohn’s story is one of resilience, loyalty, and quiet leadership.
