In this episode, our host Mark Braybrook is joined by FOG #81 Adrian Vowles, a former professional rugby league player whose career spanned the globe and left an indelible mark on the sport.
Born and raised in Charleville, Queensland, Adrian played at the elite level in both Australia and the UK. His versatility as a loose forward and centre saw him shine across multiple teams, including the Gold Coast Seagulls, North Queensland Cowboys, and several Super League clubs, such as the Castleford Tigers, Leeds Rhinos, and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
Adrian also earned the honor of representing Queensland in the State of Origin in 1994 and proudly donned the Scotland jersey in 2000, demonstrating his passion and talent on the international stage. Across his career, Adrian played an impressive 271 games, scoring 52 tries and becoming a fan favorite with his grit, determination, and leadership.
In this episode, Adrian reflects on his journey from the small town of Charleville to the big stage of professional rugby league. He shares stories from his time in State of Origin, playing overseas in the Super League, and the lessons he’s carried with him after hanging up his boots.
